People with a passion for culture and the arts might be interested in taking a ferry to Holland this year to attend a special event in the country.
The Noorderzon Festival will come to the city of Groningen for 11 days from August 18th.
According to
P&O Ferries blogger Matthias Scherer, the destination will be turned into a "hub of culture and art" during the celebrations.
Visitors can head to the Noorderplantsoen park, which will provide the backdrop for a series of performances by artists from Holland and around the world.
Film fans can catch screenings of some interesting and unusual pieces of cinema, including David Lynch's Eraserhead and Lars von Trier's new movie Melancholia, as well as a preview of celebrated director Miranda July's new project The Future.
There will be plenty more to enjoy at the Noorderzon Festival, including live music and dance.
Travellers planning a trip to Holland can take
ferries from Hull to Rotterdam with P&O Ferries or book crossings from Newcastle to Amsterdam with
