Take a ferry to Ireland for the Cork Jazz Festival

Take a ferry to Ireland for the Cork Jazz Festival
Ferries to Ireland could prove highly popular among music fans this autumn when a major event returns to the country.

The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival will get underway on October 22nd and run until October 25th.

Visitors will be able to catch performances by a number of acclaimed jazz musicians as well as rising stars.

Fastnet Line offers a direct service from Swansea to Cork, while Stena Line operates ferries from Fishguard to Rosslare and Irish Ferries offers a route from Pembroke to Rosslare.

Highlights of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival line-up this year will include a show by Herbie Hancock at the Everyman Palace Theatre on October 23rd and a Maceo Parker concert at the Savoy Theatre on the following day.

Other acts due to perform this year include Steve Winwood, the Brand New Heavies and the Louis Stewart International Quintet.

Travellers heading to Ireland can also take ferries from Holyhead to Dublin with Irish Ferries or Stena Line, while both P&O and Norfolkline/DFDS Seaways provide ferries from Liverpool to Dublin.
