While Scotland's Year of Food and Drink may be coming to an end this month, the country still offers plenty of events and experiences for gastronomes to savour, according to the national tourist board.
VisitScotland recommended trying oysters on the seafood trail, heading to Edinburgh to enjoy Michelin-starred cuisine and making ice cream in Dumfries and Galloway.
There will also be plenty of events on offer to travellers visiting the country with operators such as
P&O Ferries and
Stena Line this year, like Taste of Edinburgh, which will come to The Meadows from July 1st to 3rd.
Highlights of the culinary celebration will include servings of sumptuous dishes from leading local restaurants such as Ondine, First Coast and VinCaffe, while expert chefs including Mattia Camorani and Paul Wedgwood will give demonstrations.
Another popular Scottish event is the Trossachs Mushroom Festival, which is held every year in October.
Travellers can reach Scotland from Northern Ireland by booking
ferries from Belfast to Stranraer or taking
ferries from Larne to Cairnryan with P&O.
Visitors can also extend their journey to the country's Northern Isles with
NorthLink or
Pentland Ferries.
