People planning a ferry break in Scotland before the end of the year will have plenty of opportunities to start ticking off names on their Christmas shopping list.
Tourism agency VisitScotland highlighted a number of markets, fairs and other festive events that will be taking place across the country over the coming months, many of which will be based in Glasgow.
St Enoch Square in the city will host its traditional German Christmas market until November 24th, while Edenmill Farm will provide the venue for a food and drink festival on November 28th.
Travellers starting their journey from Northern Ireland can take
ferries from Belfast to Stranraer with
Stena Line or alternatively book places on
ferries from Larne to Cairnryan, which are provided by
P&O Ferries.
Dozens of farmers' markets will be taking place around Glasgow over the next month or so, with some of the most popular events held in Queen's Park, Mansfield Park in Partick and the Silverburn shopping centre.
VisitScotland recommended many other events all over the country, such as Edinburgh's continental fair in the Mound precinct (November 25th-December 24th) and Aberdeen's international street market (November 26th-28th).
People looking for some memorable travel experiences in Scotland might also be interested in visiting Orkney, which can be reached by taking
ferries from Gills Bay to St Margarets Hope with
Pentland Ferries.
