Take a ferry to Spain to enjoy some live music

Take a ferry to Spain to enjoy some live music
People with a passion for music can take ferries to Spain this summer to combine a holiday with some live entertainment.

The Festival Jardins de Cap Roig will take place in the scenic Palafrugell region on the Costa Brava in north-east Spain from July 2nd to August 17th.

It will feature performances by a host of well-known artists from around the world.

Travellers can reach northern Spain by taking ferries from Portsmouth to Bilbao with P&O Ferries.

Artists taking part in the Cap Roig festival this year will include Rufus Wainwright, who will open the event with a show on July 2nd, and Herbie Hancock, who will perform on July 24th.

Diana Krall (July 31st), Sinead O'Connor (August 1st) and Julio Iglesias (August 5th) will also provide entertainment to Costa Brava visitors.

Several other events will take place during the festival, including a wine tasting session with Josep Roca of Celler de Can Roca.

Another way for travellers to reach Spain is by taking ferries to Santander from Portsmouth or Plymouth with Brittany Ferries.
