Festive travellers planning to catch ferries to Belgium over the coming months will be able to enjoy some unique Christmas experiences across the country, Tourism Flanders has revealed.
The agency said that people planning to do some shopping will be 'spoilt for choice', with market squares all over the country opening up and selling everything from seasonal food and drink to decorations and handicrafts.
One of the most popular destinations to visit during the festive season is Bruges, which will host its own Christmas market as well as the Snow and Ice Sculpture festival from November 20th to January 10th next year.
Ferries to Zeebrugge are provided by
Norfolkline from Rosyth in Scotland, while P&O Ferries operates a Hull to Zeebrugge ferry service.
Another city worth visiting is Brussels, where a 1,000-square-metre ice rink will be set up in the Grote Markt and seasonal promotions will be launched at local restaurants and museums.
Music fans can enjoy some live jazz, folk and rock performances in Ghent, which will also present a fireworks display on the banks of the Lys river on New Year's Eve.
Another travel option for people interested in visiting Belgium this Christmas is
TransEuropa Ferries' Ramsgate to Ostend ferry route.
