People with an interest in the arts will be able to take ferries to Dublin this year to attend an inaugural festival in the Irish capital.
The SoGo Dublin Arts Festival will take place on the bank holiday weekend from May 1st to 3rd.
While full programme details have not yet been confirmed, visitors can expect a wide range of events including art exhibitions, street entertainment, fashion shows, music and discos for younger visitors.
Travellers can see what the new festival has to offer by taking ferries to Dublin from Holyhead with
Stena Line or
Irish Ferries.
Events will be held in a thriving area of the city known as the SoGo district, which derives its name from South George's Street.
Kate Fennell, the festival's programme director, said: "These are challenging times but I believe that now more than ever imagination, creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit are in strong supply in our city.
"The SoGo Festival will be a showcase and a celebration of these energies, so we hope people's curiosity will lure them to the area around George's St on this May bank holiday weekend to join in the fun."
Another option for people heading to Ireland's capital city is the Liverpool to Dublin ferry route, which is served by
P&O Ferries and
Norfolkline Irish Sea.
