Take ferries to Dublin to enjoy Lightwave Festival

Take ferries to Dublin to enjoy Lightwave Festival
Families taking a Liverpool to Dublin ferry in the New Year will be able to visit an illuminating exhibition at the Science Gallery.

Taking place over the month of January, though closed on Mondays, the Lightwave Festival will give visitors the chance to explore the world of light alongside some of Ireland's best scientific minds.

Among the highlights of the 2010 event will be the exhibits demonstrating how kaleidoscopes are used to track earthquakes across the world, and a Cell Phone Disco, which gives children the chance to see what their phone conversations look like in terms of light waves.

The Science Gallery forms part of Dublin's Trinity College and, as such, experts from the world-famous university will be on hand to answer questions and give talks.

Also set to be popular with travellers taking ferries to Dublin over the first few days of 2010 is the Temple Bar Tradfest, which will once again see the city's bar and restaurant quarter given over to folk music and dancing.
