Ferries to France will prove popular with car lovers this summer as the town of Molsheim in the Alsace region celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of Bugatti.
Ettore Bugatti set up his automobile manufacturing company in eastern France in 1909, a firm that has since designed and built some 7,500 high-performance vehicles.
Those who would like to join in with the celebrations of this prestigious brand can catch ferries to Calais from Dover with
Seafrance or P&O Ferries to make the drive to the Alsace region.
Highlights of the summer's events will include an orienteering race from the steps of the Bugatti family home, with a ride in the manufacturer's Veyron car the prize for the winning team.
There will also be a procession of 100 Bugatti models old and new through the main streets of Molsheim on September 13th, as well as exhibitions at various venues in the town throughout the summer.
In addition to the Calais ferry services, travellers can reach north-east France by sailing to Dunkerque with
Norfolkline or catching ferries to Boulogne from Dover with LD Lines.
