Ferries to France could prove popular next month as travellers head to Paris to join in with some popular annual celebrations.
February 14th will see the French capital hosting the annual Carnaval de Paris parade and plenty of parties to mark the Chinese New Year.
People interested in visiting the city can use the Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry route served by
LD Lines or alternatively take ferries to Calais from Dover with P&O Ferries or
Seafrance.
Taking place for the 13th time, the Carnaval de Paris parade is part of a tradition that dates back to around 1274.
It sees musicians and people in fancy dress taking part in a procession that runs from the bottom of Rue le Vau to the town hall, getting underway at about 15:00 local time.
A parade is also arranged to celebrate Chinese New Year in Paris, featuring giant serpents, dancers and other impressive spectacles.
Visitors can enjoy live music, fireworks displays and other special events in the Chinatown district.
LD Lines also provides ferries to Boulogne from Dover, while
Brittany Ferries operates Caen and Cherbourg ferry services from Portsmouth.
