People with a soft spot for jazz might be interested in booking ferries to France to attend a festival in Normandy this year.
The 29th outing of Jazz Sous les Pommiers - which translates roughly as Jazz Under the Apple Trees - will be staged at a number of venues in the town of Coutances from May 8th to 15th.
Coutances is easy to reach for people travelling from the UK, with
Brittany Ferries' Caen and Cherbourg ferry services, which operate from Portsmouth, among the most direct routes to the destination.
Music fans will be treated to performances by a varied line-up of artists at this year's festival, with the Frederic Nardin trio and Naby among those who will be getting the event underway on May 8th.
Over the course of the subsequent seven days, holidaymakers in Coutances will be entertained by the likes of Melody Gardot, the Drummers of Burundi and the Matthew Herbert Big Band, among others.
Performances are staged at several venues in the town, including the Salle Marcel Helie and Place St Nicolas.
There are many travel options for people planning to visit Normandy this year, including
Condor Ferries' Portsmouth to Cherbourg ferry service and
LD Lines'
ferries from Portsmouth to Le Havre.
