People planning to take ferries to France for a Christmas break in Paris this year might get the opportunity to see an unforgettable live show.
Ben Hur Live, a production that was described as "one of the most spectacular events to be witnessed this year" following its premiere in London, will visit the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy on December 19th.
Those who get tickets for the event can take ferries to Dover from Calais with either
Seafrance or P&O Ferries and drive south to visit Paris, or alternatively travel on the Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry service provided by
LD Lines.
Ben Hur Live took a total of 15 years to develop and opened in London in September to mark the 50th anniversary of the release of Ben Hur, the classic movie starring Charlton Heston.
It features a cast of 400 performers and 40 specially trained horses that put on impressive set pieces including action-packed chariot races, chaotic battle scenes and vibrant festival celebrations.
After visiting Paris, the Ben Hur Live tour will head to Barcelona for shows on December 26th and 27th before coming to an end in Madrid from January 2nd to 4th 2010.
People interested in visiting France for Christmas can also take ferries to Caen or St Malo from Portsmouth with
Brittany Ferries.
