People who have a combined interest in art and horticulture have the opportunity to catch ferries to France this year to pay a visit to the Claude Monet estate and explore the artist's famous gardens.
The attraction in Giverny, near Le Havre, was reopened in April this year and will continue to welcome visitors until October 31st.
People interested in exploring the gardens that were so inspirational to Monet can catch ferries to Le Havre from Portsmouth with
LD Lines.
The artist moved to Giverny in 1883 and spent a lot of time cultivating gardens that were as full of colour, light and vitality as many of his paintings.
As well as exploring the outdoor area, visitors to the Monet estate can enter the artist's house to see his collection of Japanese prints and learn about his love of flowers and plants.
In addition to the
LD Lines service to Le Havre, travellers can use the Portsmouth to Caen ferry route served by
Brittany Ferries to reach the Normandy region of France.
Another option is to catch ferries to Calais from Dover with
Seafrance or P&O Ferries and drive south to Giverny.
