Britons planning a beach holiday this year can take ferries to France to see some of the leading seafront hotspots in Europe.
The Sunday Times named Plage Conguel in Brittany as one of the "20 hottest European beaches for 2010", encouraging visitors to see its "family-sized rocky coves" and stunning views of Belle-Ile.
People interested in visiting the location were informed by the newspaper that they can take ferries to St Malo and Roscoff from Portsmouth and Plymouth respectively with
Brittany Ferries.
Several other French beaches featured on the list, including Lac de Mondely in the Pyrenees and Collioure in Languedoc.
Holidaymakers planning a trip to Provence can choose from two coastal destinations recommended by the Sunday Times - Piemanson beach in Camargue and Notre Dame at Ile de Porquerolles.
LD Lines offers ferries to Le Havre from Portsmouth, while those setting off from the south-east can use the Dover to Dunkerque ferry service provided by
Norfolkline.
Travellers might also be interested in taking ferries to Spain to visit beaches such as Cala d'Aiguafreda on the Costa Brava or La Concha in San Sebastian.
