Top reasons to take Isle of Wight ferry trips this summer

People looking for some summer holiday inspiration have been given a number of reasons to take Isle of Wight ferry breaks in August.

According to Isle of Wight Tourism, the island is offering a "packed programme" of events and activities this summer, including carnival parades, an international sailing regatta and open-air concerts.

One of the highlights for music fans taking Isle of Wight ferry breaks will be an event at Osborne House on August 1st and 2nd, which will feature live performances by Anastacia and Simply Red.

From August 1st to 8th, the island will host Cowes Week, a major sailing event that will see ships gather in the waters of the Solent. Visitors will be able to see all of the action from the Cowes seafront.

Yarmouth will prove just as popular from August 8th to 15th when it hosts its 99th annual carnival, an event that will feature family activities, competitions and a parade at the end of the week.

Wightlink offers a Lymington to Yarmouth ferry route and also provides ferries to Fishbourne and Ryde on the Isle of Wight from Portsmouth.

Another option for holidaymakers is the Southsea to Ryde service operated by Hovertravel.
