Sports fans planning to take a ferry to the Isle of Wight with Wightlink to attend Cowes Week this year can look forward to some exciting events.
It was recently confirmed that the Extreme Sailing series will return to Cowes this year, providing entertainment for spectators with a series of short, sharp races.
Last year, thousands of people gathered along the shoreline to see the Extreme 40 catamarans take part in a contest that brought a number of vessels within inches of each other.
The races will take place between July 31st and August 5th this year.
Gilles Chiorri, a spokeswoman for Cowes Week organiser OC Events, said: "We aim to entertain both on and off the water at every event.
"The visitors last year were fantastic in their support of the teams and were very vocal in their enjoyment of the racing. We look forward to putting on another great show this year."
