Travellers urged to try Xmas trip to Bruges | | | | 16 October 2008 | Holidaymakers looking for a Christmas break have been invited to see what the Belgian city of Bruges has to offer during the festive period.
DFDS Seaways offers a ferry crossing from Newcastle to Amsterdam, which enables holidaymakers to drive or catch a train to the Belgian city.
The ferry operator's onboard facilities include restaurants, bars, shops and live entertainment.
Upon arrival in Bruges, travellers can explore the winding streets and canals of the medieval city, with sights including the 13th century belfry and the Church of Our Lady, which is the largest structure in the city.
Visitors will have plenty of opportunities to pick up Christmas gifts for their friends and families, including some of the chocolate that Bruges is famous for.
An alternative to travelling with DFDS Seaways to reach Bruges is sailing with P&O Ferries, which offers ferry crossings from the port of Hull to Zeebrugge in Belgium.
Holidaymakers can also catch Eurostar services to Calais and then take onward trains to Brussels. |
