Families planning their cheap ski holidays in France will have no shortage of things to do in Val d'Isere during the run-up to Christmas.
This is because the Alpine resort is aiming to demonstrate its versatility during the festive period, meaning there will be plenty of options for holidaymakers who fancy leaving the skis behind for a day.
A popular winter ski holidays destination, one of Val d'Isere's highlights this year will be its Christmas market, which will feature a variety of French produce.
The local patisserie will show holidaymakers how to bake the perfect croissant, while Santa Claus himself plans to pop by to entertain the children.
With a spectacular fireworks display also scheduled, ski chalet occupants have plenty to look forward to other than simply heading to the slopes.
Until Boxing Day, Val d'Isere will also host concerts, magic shows and a merry-go-round, while there will also be a display of giant snow sculptures to keep visitors entertained.
