People planning to take
ferries to France for a holiday this year might be interested in arranging a trip to Paris as the city hosts the Quartier d'Ete festival.
The popular summer event will be returning from July 14th to August 15th.
A range of exhibitions, performances, concerts and other cultural activities are arranged at venues throughout the city, many of which are free to attend.
Holidaymakers can reach northern France via the
Dover to Calais ferry route, which is served by
SeaFrance and
P&O Ferries.
Highlights of the Quartier d'Ete programme this summer will include Jazz Arenas at the Arenes de Montmartre venue, which will feature the Contact Quintet, Martial Solal and other artists.
Visitors can also head to the Palais Royal between August 4th and 6th to see the Irrepressibles, a group of Baroque musicians from the UK.
LD Lines offers
ferries from Portsmouth to Le Havre for travellers heading to northern France, while
Brittany Ferries operates St Malo, Caen and Cherbourg ferry services from Portsmouth.
