Amsterdam ferry breaks could prove a popular option among sailing enthusiasts later this year when a major event takes place in the Dutch capital.
The annual Amsterdam Boat Show will take place at the city's RAI complex from March 2nd to 7th.
Those interested in attending can reach the city by taking ferries to Amsterdam from Newcastle with
DFDS Seaways.
Every year, the Boat Show attracts thousands of enthusiasts to the RAI, who come to inspect the latest high-tech equipment and sailing attire.
Hundreds of new boats and accessories will be on display at the event, which will be attended by some 350 exhibitors.
Highlights of the Amsterdam Boat Show this year will include an area dedicated to electric and hybrid vessels, which are becoming increasingly popular amid rising concerns of global warming.
There will also be plenty of computers and consoles offering virtual sailing experiences that will interest younger visitors.
Travellers interested in visiting Holland can also ferries to Hook of Holland from Harwich with
Stena Line or use P&O Ferries' Hull to Rotterdam ferry service.
