People catching
ferries from Dover to Calais next week will be subject to delays when the Olympic Torch comes to the town.
DFDS Seaways has warned that on July 18th, there will be delays between 18:00 and 23:30 BST.
The main reason for this is the closure of the A20 between 18:00 and 18:30, 19:30 and 20:00 and 23:00 to 23:30, with each of the delays likely to last longer than the 30 minute periods of closure.
In addition to this, Dover's seafront is closed from 14:00 on July 17th until the event is over, which could affect freight customers needing customs clearance, as well as anyone attending a function at the Dover Marina Hotel.
DFDS Seaways and
LD Lines currently run a joint service between Dover and Calais.
This has consisted of ten sailings to the French port a day since its second vessel, Deal Seaways, was launched in late April.
