Brits who embarked on ferry crossings to the Isle of Wight over the weekend for the White Air festival enjoyed an event that was blessed by bright September sunshine.
The festival is one of the UK's leading extreme sports events, with live music and other entertainment thrown in over the course of three days.
Among the highlights of the weekend were two displays by the Red Arrows, which were watched by thousands of people who gathered along the Sandown shoreline, the Isle of Wight County Press reports.
Junior and youth windsurfing competitions were held, although a lack of strong winds meant that the professional contest could not go ahead.
Music lovers will have enjoyed Saturday night the most, with popular indie act the Pigeon Detectives entertaining the crowds before Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank took to the stage.
People interested in seeing what other cultural and sporting events the Isle of Wight has to offer can catch cheap ferries to the island from Lymington and Portsmouth with Wightlink and from Southampton with Red Funnel.
