Wightlink Spring Cleaning Ready For Summer Season
In anticipation of a good summer season ahead, the market leading cross-Solent carrier WightLink is refurbishing its fleet of car ferries serving the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route, the busiest route to the Isle of Wight.
Growth of 3.08% on car traffic during the 2004/2005 season has encouraged WightLink to plan a busy promotional schedule of activity to start around Easter 2006, using the umbrella theme Outdoor Wight and focusing on the Isle of Wight's landscape including its gardens, nature reserves and large Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The refurbishment, due for completion by mid-March, involves the replacement of outdoor seating and decking on all four of the ferry operator's St class vessels, whilst a range of improvements are being made to the interior of the St. Faith and St. Cecilia. These include the fitting of new upholstery and carpet and an upgrading of baby changing facilities.
WightLink continues to offer travel agents commission on bookings made for its ferry services from Portsmouth and Lymington.
