People with a passion for classic cars have been encouraged to arrange an Isle of Wight ferry break this month to attend a special event on the island.
Wightlink revealed that around 800 vintage vehicles "of all shapes and sizes" will be crossing the Solent over the coming weeks to appear at the Classic Car Extravaganza.
The showcase will take place at Newport Quay and Ryde Esplanade on the weekend of September 18th and 19th.
Car enthusiasts can book
ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne or Ryde with Wightlink and combine the event with a short break on the picturesque and peaceful island.
The Classic Car Extravaganza will offer free entry on both days and feature a fascinating array of automobiles from across the UK and around the world.
Visitors will be invited to make a donation to some of the charities supported by the show, such as the Barely Born Appeal at St Mary's Hospital and the Earl Mountbatten Hospice in Newport.
Travellers heading to the Isle of Wight can take fast crossings from Southsea to Ryde with
Hovertravel or catch
ferries from Lymington to Yarmouth with Wightlink.
