Wightlink lists top winter break options | | | | 04 November 2009 | Wightlink has encouraged travellers to consider a winter break on the Isle of Wight this year.
According to the ferry operator, the selection of special offers and promotions being launched at some of the island's hotels and self-catering properties means that a luxury short trip "doesn't have to break the bank".
People who have a passion for food were advised to pay a visit to the Hambrough, a boutique hotel in Ventnor that is home to the island's only Michelin-starred restaurant.
Another option is Priory Bay, a country house located between the towns of Bembridge and Seaview on the east coast, which has facilities including a six-hole golf course, tennis courts, a private beach and 70 acres of woodland.
Those planning a self-catering break might be interested in Niton Barns in the south of the island, while half-board accommodation is provided at the Wellington Hotel in Ventnor and the Seaview.
Wightlink offers ferries to Fishbourne and Ryde from Portsmouth and also operates a Lymington to Yarmouth ferry route.
