Wightlink recommends Isle of Wight breaks for Easter

Wightlink recommends Isle of Wight breaks for Easter
Wightlink has recommended the Isle of Wight as the ideal location for a family break this Easter.

The ferry operator pointed out that travellers simply have to "hop across the Solent" to visit the popular holiday island, with no need to worry about "airport queues, flying and changing currency".

Wightlink operates ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

When they arrive on the island, holidaymakers can choose from a "wealth of beaches, attractions and rainy day activities to keep kids of all ages amused", according to the ferry company, as well as a range of accommodation options.

Among the properties recommended by Wightlink is Niton Barns in the scenic village of Niton, South Wight and the well-known Garlic Farm, which comprises six cottages in the heart of the island.

Attractions worth visiting during an Isle of Wight ferry break include the Needles - the destination's most famous landmark - and the coloured cliffs at Alum Bay.

Wightlink also offers ferries to Yarmouth from Lymington, while Hovertravel operates crossings between Southsea and Ryde.
