Wightlink reveals "island secrets"

Wightlink reveals
People planning a holiday on the Isle of Wight this summer will be able to make use of a new booklet released by Wightlink that reveals some of the island's secrets.

The 28-page Secret Wight guide sets out a number of different challenges for parents and children to take on.

Using Ordnance Survey grid references, holidaymakers can follow routes that will take them to a range of isolated locations, from untouched beaches and towering cliffs to wide expanses of "otherworldly" vegetation.

Wightlink provides access to the Isle of Wight with regular ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde.

Kerry Jackson, the company's marketing manager, said: "The Isle of Wight is well known for its beaches but many people visit the island and never find the hidden gems that are treasured by local families.

"Secret Wight provides parents with the inside track to find these special places so they can turn back the clock and give their children the type of holiday they enjoyed when they were young."

Wightlink also offers ferries from Lymington to Yarmouth, while Hovertravel operates crossings from Southsea to Ryde.
