Ferry travellers planning a trip to Spain in the near future might be interested in heading to the Galicia region in the north-west to see a prestigious photography exhibition.
The World Press Photo display is currently on view at Casa da Cuncha in Santiago de Compostela and will run until October 2nd 2011.
One way for holidaymakers from the UK to reach northern Spain is by sailing with
Brittany Ferries, which provides travel options including
ferries from Plymouth to Santander and from Portsmouth to both Santander and Bilbao.
The World Press Photo exhibition serves as a showcase for prize-winning images from a range of countries, which highlight the power of photography as a universal form of expression and communication.
During its global tour, the display will visit 100 cities in 45 different nations.
Holidaymakers visiting Santiago de Compostela can also see the town's famous cathedral, which has been the final destination of the Way of St James Christian pilgrimage route for centuries.
People planning to extend their tour of Spain to take in the Balearic islands can sail from the country's east coast with
Balearia or Acciona Trasmediterranea.
