Cheap ferries to the Isle of Wight could be carrying passengers of numerous nationalities in May as a result of worldwide interest in the island's Walking Festival.
According to the Isle of Wight Council, the festival's website has received requests for official programmes from as far afield as Quebec in Canada, Paraza in France and Cape Town in South Africa.
The festival, which will be held from May 9th to 24th, has also seen considerable interest from people all over the UK and Ireland, many of whom will soon be booking their cheap ferries to visit the event.
George Brown, deputy leader of the Isle of Wight Council, said: "International interest in the council-supported Walking Festival is good news for our tourism industry.
"The Isle of Wight is enjoying an ever-growing participation in its wonderful outdoor pursuits, including cycling and water sports, throughout the year. The Isle of Wight is a great destination and the Walking Festival only helps enhance our reputation."
The festival will include several walks, which will explore a number of different themes and provide the opportunity to take in some of the island's famous scenery.
Cheap ferries to the Isle of Wight are available with Wightlink, which sails from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde, from Southampton to Cowes and from Lymington to Yarmouth.
