The port of Piraeus offers every concievable facility, from shops and restaurants to air conditioned departure lounges, walkways and wi-fi coverage of the whole port.
Athens' Metro 1 terminates at the port and offers a convenient way of getting in and out of the city. There are also frequent buses. You can buy a ticket for a Euro that is valid for all connecting services for a ninety minute period. There are free shuttle buses within the port itself.
