Pirano Ferry Port is situated in the heart of the Slovenian town of Pirano, and connects Pirano with Italy with ferry services running from Pirano to Venice.
Pirano, or Piran, is a town in south-west Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Pirano is an old Mediterranean town with medieval architecture and a rich culture and heritage. Pirano has around 4,500 inhabitants and is characterised by its narrow streets and compact houses.
Pirano town centre is overlooked by the St. George Cathedral, and is home to the Tartini Square, with its monument to the composer Guiseppe Tartini, who was born in the town. Pirano has many museums and other attractions, including the Maritime Museum and the Town Gallery.
Pirano, traditionally a fortified town, is steeped in history; you can still visit much of the old town walls and many of the town gates today.
