01 July, 2012 at the BUGATTI Prescott Speed Hill Climb 2012

The Prescott Speed Hill Climb took place the sunny weekend of 26th & 27th May 2012. and the Poitou-Charentes Tourist Board donated a prize of a weekend stay in Angouleme in September 2012 for the annual Circuit des Remparts as a tantalising prize for visitors to the event to win. This was put on the Bugatti Club website and leaflets were printed and handed out at the event for people to enter the competition. Bugatti were so pleased they donated a table at the event for the two organisations to distribute marketing material in the form of leaflets, giveaways, brochures etc. The table was situated next to the French Village and the stage and opposite the most expensive and newest Bugatti car (£1m) hence a prime position.

We certainly ran out of promotional material on the stand and feedback from the public was excellent. The competition was well received and there were positive comments about Poitou-Charentes, many people having some knowledge of the area through either childhood visits, friends having property or, unsurprisingly, having attended the Circuit de Remparts in the past. A few people had used AFerry but the majority had not heard of the site and were very interested to learn more.

There were more than 1,400 advanced ticket sales for each day and more than 2,000 paid at the gate on the Saturday and the Sunday. There were 300 car club entries with most cars having at least two passengers per car. There were also display cars and competitors so Bugatti therefore estimate that over 8,000 people attended the event over the two days. It is one of the most popular annual events in the Cotswolds.
