We chose DFDS because they were the one we had to choose for this route. We paid extra for the Seaview Lounge. We were not given the cards for access as they had run out. There was no-one in attendance (nor was there at any time during the crossing) so we walked through when somebody else activated the doors. Eventually someone came and I had to go out to the bar where the rather unfriendly lady checked our right to be there. There were no cakes on offer, just pastries, and not many of them. There were very few people in the lounge, about 3 apart from us, but people who had arrived earlier had put their belongings on the window seats and then gone elsewhere. The toilets left a lot to be desired. The general impression was that the ferry was not particularly clean and the staff did not seem very happy or helpful. The wi-fi was virtually non-existent. We will stick to P and O .

The trip was just perfect, no problems at all! The queue was quite a delight to get to, easy pass in towards the ship and the staff were very helpful!

    No chance for rest
    • Dover to Dunkerque with DFDS Seaways

As a Canal Le Manche ferry, you could expect that the ferry company will notice, that it is used not only by English people who nip out to France to buy cheap booze and fags, but mostly by people, who travel long distance. Therefore it would be nice to have a chance to sit comfortably and take a nap. But forget about such things in DFDS ferry. Noisy televisions, gaming machines, running kids, uncomforttable seats and sofast with bars mounted on them to prevent people from lying down comfortably. I hate using those ferries, I used to travel via Bologne-sur-Mer one when it was still running, even thought it meant more driving for me.
