Ystad is approximately 60 km from Malmo, 90 km from Copenhagen and 330 km from Gothenburg.
Ystad Ferry Port is located close to the centre of Ystad, and is easily accessible from Malmo and western Sweden via the E65 highway. Follow the signs to the Revhusen Terminal.
By train
Ystad railway station is situated very close to the port. From Malmö it takes approximately 45 minutes with Skånetrafiken's Pågatåg train. The same Pågatåg train takes you to Simrishamn in 40 minutes. There is also train departures to Copenhagen and you can get there within an hour.
Ystad is a pleasant Swedish town with red half-timber houses and beautiful countryside. The town is home to galleries, artists' studios, cafés and shops selling local handicrafts as well as many visitor attractions. Ystad boasts a variety of local museums, including museums depicting the Swedish police force and fire brigade throughout history, and the Charlotte Berlin museum, which is a well-preserved 19th century house with unaltered furnishings giving a valuable insight into 19th century life in Sweden.
Other attractions in Ystad include Ystad Abbey, which is a Franciscan monastery dating from 1267, and Marvinsholms manor house and sculpture park.
