About Barcelona

Barcelona is the capital of Spain's Catalonia region, and is one of the Spain's, or even Europe's, most beautiful and vibrant cities. Barcelona is a city of contrasts, which is evident in its architecture, a marriage of Gothic spikes and modern curves, including the famous - Sagrada Familia.

Barcelona is divided into two parts. The old city, which is the heart of the city, includes shopping, cafes and museums. Then there's Port Vell, which features bars, restaurants, shops, an IMAX theatre and the largest aquarium in Europe, not too far from the main Barcelona ferry port.

    Ferry Crossing.
    • Over all very good. The sea was very rough but you cannot do anything about that but facilities helped to make a more comfortable sailing.

Excellent Ferry, strangely lacking Traveller Service.
    • Excellent but also lacking some services in equal measures. Boarding - At Mahon, anarchy prevailed. It does not matter how early you arrive or how polite or patient you try to be arrogant vehicle drivers rule the roost. Boarding is sadly lacking adequate policing with cars jumping queues and or forcing their way in. The ferry was extremely clean, comfortable, very well equipped. Announcements were clear, concise and informative. The catering (cafe and restaurant) prices were extremely reasonable for a ferry but.... The opening times were severely limited and they appeared not to open for breakfast! That seemed very odd indeed. Departure and arrival times were precise. I would (and expect to) travel again with this operator.
