About Barcelona

Barcelona is the capital of Spain's Catalonia region, and is one of the Spain's, or even Europe's, most beautiful and vibrant cities. Barcelona is a city of contrasts, which is evident in its architecture, a marriage of Gothic spikes and modern curves, including the famous - Sagrada Familia.

Barcelona is divided into two parts. The old city, which is the heart of the city, includes shopping, cafes and museums. Then there's Port Vell, which features bars, restaurants, shops, an IMAX theatre and the largest aquarium in Europe, not too far from the main Barcelona ferry port.

About Mahon

The town itself has plenty to offer. Most of the shopping is along pedestrianised streets with wonderful cake shops and markets selling leather, pottery and fresh food and fish.

Whether you wish to explore its narrow streets, or visit its pleasant shady squares with welcoming pavement cafes, or prefer shopping that ranges from the twice weekly market to expensive designer boutiques, Mahon is a must on every visit to Menorca.

    • Quite a small ship but reasonable crossing after slightly late boarding procedure Cabin comfortable if sparse, facilities adequate, overall good Did not use catering

    Sevenyth time used
    • I apparently had a VIP cabin for two in a four birth cabin. The best cabin I have ever had on any ferry crossing either from UK or Spain.

    Comfortable journey
    • The ship left on time and got in on time. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The cabin was as expected and the beds were comfortable. We often cross from Barcelona to Mahon and back and would recommend travelling with Trasmediterranea for this journey.

    Delighted with customer service
    • Easier boarding from Mahon - but still slow. Decided to book a cabin once on board and achieved this quickly but at cost of 140 euros. Crossing on time and straight forward....would travel again with Trasmed rather than the alternative....

    • Very disappointed to find Barcelona terminal restaurant closed, as we have used this many years and need dinner prior to embarking. Check in facilities understaffed.
