About Civitavecchia

Civitavecchia Ferry Port has access to the most important national and European road and rail networks.

Civitavecchia(meaning "ancient Town") took the brunt of the two World Wars because of its strategic importance as a Roman Port and in the due course most of the city's archaeological treasures and old buildings were destroyed.

But, some of the interesting sites that still remain are the 16th century Fort Michelangelo and the Piazza Leandra along with some interesting hot spring baths from the Roman times.

About Olbia

More than 3 million passengers and 5 million tons of freight cargo pass through Olbia Ferry Port every year. Olbia port is divided into three areas the Cocciani Port, the Internal Port used for small cruise ships, the Isola Bianca Port for Ro-Ro ships and the new area being built for the larger cruise ships.

    Efficient, clean, friendly staff
    • Smooth trip, on time. Facilities very good. However, difficult to find a quiet place to relax. Music too loud in outside bar area

Comfortable way to get to Sardinia
    • This ferry is a "hotel on water" - It has everything, even children's playground... The room was small but comfortable. I read the reviews about taking a shuttle from the train station to the port - DO NOT DO THAT! I bought tickets for "every 10 minutes" shuttle that arrived after an hour! Just take a taxi... A little hard to get people to help you when you don't speak Italian, and still - I would take that ferry again.

    cConvienient way to go?
    • Tirrenia should advise foot passengers, usually arriving by train that the ship is nearly 2 miles from the train station, and there's a free bus. Without that knowledge we had to walk...watching bus, after bus pass us by because we were in the wrong place. Once aboard, the trip was great... nicely presented cafeteria style meal at fair prices
