Denia is a tourist city, especially loved by many Germans that adopt it as a residence for the whole year. Despite the countless visitors it receives, it is very peaceful and it has very beautiful, endless beaches.
Denia Ferry Port is located at the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula and is very close to the Cap de Sant Antoni, the closest point of the Iberian Peninsula to the Balearic Islands. Denia offers great links with all the Baleric Islands and these routes can be booked through AFerry.
Some areas, such as the S'Arenal district of Palma, cater to British and other Northern European package tourists who come for sun, fun, and sport. But the capital city of Palma de Mallorca has many historic sites worth seeing, and a surprising number of villages and rural areas still have much of the charm that attracted visitors and expatriates to the island in the days before resort hotels.

30 Jun 2018Trip to Spain and Mallorca
We decided to have a two centre trip with just two flights, so we went from Denia to Palma, the trip was excellent and we would not hesitate to do it again, it took longer than the advertised 5 hours (took 6) but that was no problem. Denia departure was superb a lovely terminal, Palma was a bit chaotic but not a problem.

03 Jun 2017Good but could be better
It was not clear how to check in, when we did find out how to check in we were then separated, car and driver one way, passenger another, on the return journey a similar shambles but not separated. Recommend you check out how Brittany Ferries do it.

26 Oct 2014Travelling with a Dog
The conditions on board the Alhucemas ferry for dogs and cats are disgusting and almost tantamount to downright cruelty. They are locked in filthy oily cages for 8 hours plus. You can make an 'appointment' to go and 'look' at your pet with a member of staff but you cannot take them out of the cage for exercise even when this boat has stopped in Ibiza. I have been on other Balearia Ferries 4 times and these rules did not apply. Normally you can walk your pet onboard until the boat leaves port and then again for an hour while it is docked in Ibiza but not on Alhucemas. It is a 'Catch 22' situation because you do not know the name of the boat until you arrive in Denia.

28 Sep 2013Worked well for dogs
Very easy to take your dog. You personally choose which cage you want them in. You can stay with them and walk them round the deck until the ferry sails. You can also get them out for exercise on deck whenever the ferry stops at a port. Although the cages are in the fresh air....they are protected from sun and rain.

07 May 2013Denia to Mallorca
First check in fast ferry was cancelled due to weather which was quite stormy and we were offered either another ticket on night ferry from Valencia where we would have to make our own way on a bus or 3 days later another fast ferry. We decided to stay on at Denia but at our own expense. The fast ferry over the waters were calm and clear skies so a lovely jorney stopping off at Ibiza town then onto Mallorca for 10.30pm. Little kids ball park and a cafe but nothing else apart from Spanish films and the ear phones did not work in first class anyway.
