    Paldiski port
    • Info at port could be better for people who have not used that service before. The two ladies at offices at entrance to port were extremely helpful.

A freight vessel taking passengers as an afterthought
    • This is a useful route to avoid the long drive through Poland and Eastern Germany but it is essentially a freight line. For example be prepared to shunt and back you vehicle into incredibly tight spaces and little space to get out of the vehicle, impossible if you are overweight! Be prepared to hump your overnight kit up, if you are on the lowest deck, 6 flights of steep stairs as there are no lifts on board. (Disabled and older passengers take note.) Staff can be unhelpful and on one occasion to the point of rudeness - maybe a language problem? (German, Lithuanian and Russian main languages on board.) Food on board is basic. The vessel is a cargo ship and not a passenger ferry and as such tends to have move movement. On the positive side our cabin was comfortable and we were able to watch World Cup football live on the lounge T.V. If you are traveling to or from Hamburg via Kiel be aware that as of early July about 35 km of the 100km motorway is presently being dug up!
