(Blue Star Ferries)
Kavala is a city in northern Greece, 99 miles east of Thessaloniki. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece with a wide range of excursions available and many sparsely populated beaches. Being further north, the climate is milder than the more popular resorts in Greece.
Kavala has a rich culture built over many years with various occupancies, including the Romans, the Goths and the Ottomans - who gave the city its name. Due to its location, it became a commercial centre linking the West to the East. The city is built on the slopes of Mount Simvolo, allowing all buildings to have a clear view of the spectacular sea.
