About Korcula

Korcula is a small port town on the island of the same name. Korcula is the sixth largest island in the Adriatic Sea, situated just off the coast of Croatia. With Jadrolinija Ferries you can book ferries from Korcula to Dubrovnik, Rijeka, Sobra, Split and Stari Grad.

Korcula is an island very much based on agriculture, namely the cultivation of grape vines, olives and fruit, as well as fishing.

The town of Korcula is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean, with a vast and fascinating history. The island was inhabited in the 3rd century B.C by the Greeks, but is now mainly inhabited by Croats.

A lovely relaxing way to go from a to b in Croatia
    • We love this big old ferry that slowly moves from place to place along the coast It's not cheap and the food leaves something to be desired but with a picnic and maybe a cushion to sit on on deck it is always one of the best parts of our visits to our favourite destination We often plan our holiday around the schedule of the boat People watching as they try to bed down deck and watching the stars is wonderful

    Great journey!
    • Excellent crossing and on time. Two minor issues that we felt it spent too long docked at certain places and also set off slightly late as people kept turning up late = leave them if they can't be on time. Secondly the toilets were not very clean and smelt a lot.

    A trip on the Jad
    • The 3.5 hour trip from Dubrovnik to Korcula went smoothly enough. The check in requirement was stated for two hours before ferry leaving. Ours was leaving D. at 8am so that would gave meant an early start. We finally decided to chance things by leaving it till 1.5 before departure getting an extra bit if sleep. As we had already booked our tickets this worked out OK. It was worth boarding early to get a long booth seat which meant we coukd stretch out. The boat was big which meant the journey was smooth.
