Free parking is available next to the terminal building, and there is also a bus stop outside the terminal. The terminal building houses a waiting room that can seat up to 40 people, and toilets with baby changing facilities. The nearest shops and cash machines can be found in the centre of Lochmaddy, 500 metres from the ferry terminal.
Lochmaddy is the island's main village and the administrative centre of North Uist in the outer Hebrides. The original name of the settlement was Cearsabhagh or Kersivay, probably given by Norse residents.
The town's main attraction is Taigh Chearsabhagh, a community arts centre and museum where you can also find a shop and cafe. Overlooked by picturesque mountains, the wild and beautiful landscape of the place is sure to take your breath away as you arrive by ferry. North Uist is perfect for fishing, walking and taking in the stunning natural landscape.
