About Naze

Naze along with the towns of Kasari and Sumiyō created the city of Amami in 2006. It's located on the Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, on the eastern and northern part of Amami Ōshima and is bordered by the East China Sea at the north and the Pacific Ocean at the south.

The city of Naze was merged with a town called Kasari and a village called Sumiyo on 20 March 2006 to create the city of Amami. Previously the city of Naze was founded on 1 July 1946 and was located on Amami Oshima in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
