The city historically concentrated on winemaking, fishing and ship building for its economy and many remnants of these industries are still visible. It is worth taking time out to look around the city and its many beautiful historic buildings.
Pula, as well as being a charming tourist destination in its own right - famous for the Roman amphitheatre which dates back 1st century B.C., is also well connected to the rest of the country. The port itself is located close to the city centre and close to the major road routes of the A9 route 66 meaning that places like Porec, Novigrad and Rijeka are easily accessible.
With a history dating back over 3,000 years, Pula is a historic way to enter and leave the country of Croatia. Ferries from Pula go to Venice in Italy and can be booked online through AFerry.
Venice, in Northern Italy, is home to approximately 272,000 inhabitants, and is one of the most famous, and popular, tourist destinations in the world. Venice is made up of 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon, which stretches between the Po and Piave rivers.
Venice is best known for its canals and waterways; which interlink the many small islands of Venice. However, there is more to Venice than water - Venice is home to some of the world's most beautiful and most-recognised buildings and architecture, such as St. Marks Basilica and the Torre dell'Orologio clock tower, which overlook St. Mark's Square.
Venice has also produced, and houses, some important art such as the Venetian paintings and sculptures that crowd the churches of Venice. Much of Venice's artwork can be seen in the many galleries in Venice, such as the enormous Palazzo Grassi and the Museo Correr, and is showcased each year in the Biennale di Venezia international festival.
Venice itself is one large tourist sight, one of the most breathtaking in the world. Visitors will enjoy simply admiring the views, and cruising along the Grand Canal discovering the beauty of this city.
20 Aug 2019efficient journey
The air con was a bit too high, limited amount of catering but we got there ok and it was all on time until we got to Venice. The Italian border control kept us waiting for 90 minutes which probably limited many day trippers but that was outwith the travel company control

12 Jul 2018Fantastic trip to Venice
Very well organised trip with fantastic guides. It is worth booking the extra excursions, gondola ride, lunch, water taxi as it saves a lot of time when you get there as it is so busy in Venice. We were very lucky with the weather and the ferry crossing. A wonderful day out!

12 Oct 2017Ferry Crossing
The ferry company presented us with a wide range of extra excursions and other things to do while in Venice for the short while that we were there i.e. Taxi ride, gondola ride and meals, which was quite good and not too overly priced.
