Best Ferry Travel to the Isle Of Wight
    • I have travelled on the Red Funnel Car Ferry many times & would only travel with them to the Isle of Wight. When you book in at the Red Funnel Terminal you are greeted by a helpful member of staff. You told which lane to wait in for boarding. Then it's straight forward for boarding the Ferry. I love the fact that there is always plenty of space between your car & the car next to you. Plus they give plenty of space behind. When you leave your car to go up on deck I always feel my car is not going to get hit by other passengers alighting from their cars. The journey might take at little longer to reach the Island but I feel happier with Red Funnel. It is also very easy when you alight from the ferry over in Cowes. It is a very easy journey from the terminal ferry to where ever you are staying on the Island. I have arrived at Southampton & Cowes early before now for my journey & have been let on board the earlier ferry with no extra charge. Never got that from the competition.

Never tried this route before - will do it again
    • I've never tried to do the Isle of Wight from Southampton before, but it was a very pleasant experience and makes a nice change from other routes. Not sure I'd make it a regular route (it's not quite as convenient as going to Ryde), but it's very pleasant and I would definitely do it again sometimes if I was coming from the right direction
