About Rotterdam Europoort

Rotterdam is the largest city in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands and the second largest municipality in the Netherlands after the capital Amsterdam. The Rotterdam port and industrial complex fulfils an important role as a hub for international goods flows and as a business location for industry and logistic services.

Rotterdam was founded in the mid 13th century as a small fishing village. The name Rotterdam has been derived from a dam in the Rotte river. At the beginning of the Second World War almost the entire city centre was heavily damaged by German raids. This explains why hardly any pre-war buildings have remained in this part of Rotterdam.

Rotterdam has many interesting museums as there is the well known the Boijmans-van Beuningen Museum, the Historisch Museum (Historical museum) and the Kunsthal a center for contemporary art. A visit to Rotterdam isn't complete without a visit to the Euromast, the highest lookout tower in the Netherlands or a boat excursion over the Nieuwe Maas and the Lek Rivers.

    Happy Customer.
    • Again very happy generally. Food was good accommodation was good. Only one small complaint, which is an annoying rattle somewhere in my room, but couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was coming from. I think it was vibrations due to ship moving. But generally very pleased. Thanks.

    Smooth check in and boarding
    • Managed to upgrade our standard inside cabin to a club cabin which we really loved. Did not make use of the onboard facilities as not a great traveller. But lovely ship. Very clean.

    Great crossing, ferry fab
    • Very smooth check in and onto the ferry. We even managed an upgrade which was really great as our standard inside cabin was sooo small. Would definitely travel next time with the Club cabin. Once we were in our cabin we heard none of the noise from the entertainment even although we were also on deck 8
