About Santander

Santander is the capital of the Spanish region of Cantabria; a region known for its culture, beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. Santander's old quarter is still in existence, though little of it remains. Worth a visit are the Gothic temple and the nearby medieval town of Santillana del Mar.

There is plenty to do in Santander, including the Dunas Liencas Natural Park, the Museo Provincial de Prehistoria, the Royal Magdalena Palace and the Carbárceno Natural Park, which is the largest zoo in Europe. Santander also boasts award-winning beaches, extensive shopping facilities and a wide range of restaurants and bars.

About Plymouth

With its impressive natural harbour, Plymouth has long been an important site for British naval history. It was from Plymouth that the England Navy set sail in the 15th century to defeat the approaching Spanish Armada, an event that is still celebrated in many of Plymouth's museums.

    Plymouth to Santander ferry trip
    • We had a lovely sail as the Bay of Biscay was very calm. I went on deck for some fresh air just in time to see 3 dolphins leaping in the sea. The breakfast in the French restaurant was delicious with lots of choice.

    Pleasant journey
    • Once on board we were very happy with facilities. Restaurants and the overall quality of food had improved since our last trip with Brittany Ferries. Disembarking was chaotic to say the least but that was the fault of uk customs rather than onboard staff.
