About Santander

Santander is the capital of the Spanish region of Cantabria; a region known for its culture, beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. Santander's old quarter is still in existence, though little of it remains. Worth a visit are the Gothic temple and the nearby medieval town of Santillana del Mar.

There is plenty to do in Santander, including the Dunas Liencas Natural Park, the Museo Provincial de Prehistoria, the Royal Magdalena Palace and the Carbárceno Natural Park, which is the largest zoo in Europe. Santander also boasts award-winning beaches, extensive shopping facilities and a wide range of restaurants and bars.

About Plymouth

With its impressive natural harbour, Plymouth has long been an important site for British naval history. It was from Plymouth that the England Navy set sail in the 15th century to defeat the approaching Spanish Armada, an event that is still celebrated in many of Plymouth's museums.

    Late ferry.
    • Ferry left 2 and a half hours late(due seemingly to a technical problem. This is the second time in 2 years this has happened, we did however receive a free cup of coffee, a bottle of water and a bar of chocolate. Not exactly adequate compensation for the inconvenience and extra expense incurred.

    Good and comfortable crossing
    • I travelled as a cyclist returning from a continental bicycle tour. Everything was easy and friendly with good facilities on board. I would use this service again.

    Very good trip
    • Overall it was a very good trip. All the facilities were good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was how tiny our cabin was. It must been one of smallest ones on board.
