Santorini is famous not only for its natural beauty but for its cosmopolitan lifestyle with a vigorous nightlife and various restaurants and cocktail bars along with fantastic accommodation facilities with views over the Caldera.
Santorini was destroyed by a powerful volcanic eruption in 1500 B.C. covering the island completely and destroying a highly advanced and powerful civilization (Akrotiri) that lived in the city at the time. However, this eruption created an unrivalled wild landscape with enchanting views and attractions that now make Santorini a must see place.
Stunning clean beaches with black shining pebbles and rugged landscape in the background coupled with black, white and red sands make Santorini a truly unforgettable experience. Famous for its "Caldera", the collection of cliffs bordering the Aegean Sea that in ancient times was an active volcano, Santorini is the Cyclades' most prized possession.
Mykonos is a very cosmopolitan island, made famous in the last few decades by the international jet set visitors that spend their holidays on the island. Mykonos is a great place to see Greek and international celebrities. Some people think you have not really seen what Greece has to offer until you visit Mykonos.
Mykonos has a great night life with many discos and bars throughout the island along with some beautiful sandy beaches. All in all Mykonos is a friendly little picturesque town with beautiful white houses, narrow stone paths and windmills along with many interesting museums and town centres.
Mykonos also offers a variety of cuisines to cater to the large influx of international tourists along with local Greek delicacies and also offers a host of beautiful accommodation facilities and resorts.

29 Oct 2017fast ferry to mykonos
The worst part of the trip was the lengthy and vertiginous descent to the overcrowded ferry terminal. Check in a the Hellenic office was easy and efficient. the subsequent queuing was not pleasant due to the crowds (and the sailing of the pleasure ships from the same quay as the ferry). The ship, booked seats, crossing were all excellent, and we'd use it again. Could the harbourand terminal perhaps be improved?! Perhaps the pleasure ships could dock at a different part of the port?

23 Aug 2017Cancelled boat and chaos at the port
We travelled from Santorini to Mykonos and had our tickets upon our arrival at the port. However, when we got there we were told our boat was cancelled and we had to go to the office to speak to someone. Said office had about 200 other people all looking to do the same and it was chaos. We finally got replacement tickets for the next boat but had to wait until all those booked on that boat were on before we were boarded (understandable) and then found out that this boat wasn't an express one but took about twice as long. Overall it was a disappointing experience due to total lack of communication, poor organization and management at the port in Santorini and we lost almost a whole day of our holiday waiting at the port and traveling on what should have been a short trip.
