Santorini is famous not only for its natural beauty but for its cosmopolitan lifestyle with a vigorous nightlife and various restaurants and cocktail bars along with fantastic accommodation facilities with views over the Caldera.
Santorini was destroyed by a powerful volcanic eruption in 1500 B.C. covering the island completely and destroying a highly advanced and powerful civilization (Akrotiri) that lived in the city at the time. However, this eruption created an unrivalled wild landscape with enchanting views and attractions that now make Santorini a must see place.
Stunning clean beaches with black shining pebbles and rugged landscape in the background coupled with black, white and red sands make Santorini a truly unforgettable experience. Famous for its "Caldera", the collection of cliffs bordering the Aegean Sea that in ancient times was an active volcano, Santorini is the Cyclades' most prized possession.
Paros is one of the smaller islands in the Cyclades but has long been a tourist favourite. Why? Because Paros is neither too busy like neigbouring Mykonos or too crowded like neighbouring Santorini. Here you'll find crystal clear water and an unspoled landscape including Paros park one of the few completely protected nature reserves in the Cyclades islands.
The main town (Chora) is Parikia and here you'll find charming small shops and white-washed streets. However, in recent years the nearby fishing village of Nauossa has become a more popular hot spot and especially in July and August it resembles a mini-Mkyonos.
Paros has many fine tavernas and bars with mezze and you'll never be stuck for choice. But if it's clubs and dancing you want, stay clear. And in addition to the main settlements you'll find some charming villanges in the middle of the island like Lefkes - the old capita in times when pirates were a real threat and so the inland was much safer. Here you'll see how life used to be before tourism.
If you're island hopping in the Cyclades, Paros should definitely be on your itinerary.

25 Jun 2018unfortunate timing
My husband and I booked reserved seats on a direct trip from Santorini to Paros. Unfortunately, our non-stop trip was changed to a 5 stop trip with Paros being added on to an existing later route. We arrived about 5 hours later than planned. We also weren't given our assigned seats, but after the first leg of the trip, I was able to provide a receipt and the very helpful and apologetic employee manning the desk invited us to go upstairs to the reserved seats. The trip was fine and we got a preview of many of the ports we would be sailing to the following week. The ferry route change may have been due to the ferry strike the previous day, so we were very thankful that we hadn't planned to travel that day.

19 Jul 2017Good Ferry Trip Spoiled By On-Board Cash Machine
An on-time well ordered trip but very slow queue at the café and the luggage store. Also boarding and disembarkation a bit of a stampede esp so with no downward escalator working. Minor though compared with having my (best value Halifax Clarity)card swallowed by bank of Piraeus cash machine. Had alternatives but these were more cost to by Euros so it cost me extra money!!
