About Skidegate

Skidegate is a Haida community in Haida Gwaii (formerly the Queen Charlotte Islands) on British Columbia's Northwest coast in Canada. It is located on the southeast coast of Graham Island, the largest island in the archipelago, and is the northern terminal for ferry services between Graham Island and Alliford Bay on Moresby Island. The Haida Heritage Centre, located on Skidegate's Eastern boundary, is an award-winning Aboriginal cultural centre which celebrates the local culture and heritage, while the local Spirit Lake Trail is an easy walk through the forests which takes in spectacular views of Spirit Lake, allowing you to experience the best that Haida Gwaii has to offer.

About Prince Rupert

Prince Rupert is a city on Kaien Island in British Columbia, Canada, named after Prince Rupert of the Rhine, the first Governor of the Hudson's Bay Company. Prince Rupert is a great location for those who love to experience the great outdoors, and the area has plenty of hiking trails to get you out in the landscape. The best-known of these is Butze Rapids where, if you get the timing right, you could see the reversing rapids and maybe even a few hardy kayakers "surfing" them. McClymont Trail is another favourite trail, better suited to those who prefer their hiking a little more leisurely, while the Metlakatla Wilderness Trail is an amazing track, following the coastline for about 7 miles via a series of suspension bridges and viewpoint towers. Make sure you have a good map, appropriate clothing, and safety equipment before you head out.
